The Wither. What the hell? Whats that? Yes yes, The Wither. That weird looking ghostly creature above me is The Wither. A new boss/mob added in the latest few snapshots,12w36a and so on.
As you can see, it has 3 heads, shoots out "Wither Skulls" another new item in the game and is a very deadly creature.
STATS:
On easy mode The Wither can damage you by:
On normal mode it can damage you by:
SPAWNING:
The Wither doesn't actually spawn by itself like the other mobs. Its up to you to summon the mighty beast. How??
ADDITIONAL INFO:
How do you get wither skulls?
As you will see here, there is also a new mob called the Wither Skeleton:
It drops bones and coal, but if your lucky it will drop a stone sword and Wither Skulls.
Note that these Wither Skeletons can only be found in the Nether, unless you spawn them in creative mode else where.
DROPS FROM THE WITHER? :
The Wither, just like any other boss, will drop loads of awesome things. The experience it will drop is 20, and it will also drop a Nether Star. (New item)

- First, visit the Nether and gather up some soul sand.
- Get the soul sand and place them in a T shape. Just like iron and snow golems.
- After that, place 3 wither skulls on top of the T and.....
- WAZAAM!! The Wither is ready to kick your butt!
