Hello, PMC. I am here today to give you some simple faction server tips. If you have your own, please post them in the comments below. Just don't advertise or spam.
Bases
Bases
- Build far away from spawn. You don not want people taking 3 steps and finding it.
- You should always claim your land so others can't trample over it as easily.
- Do not leave active redstone out. If they place a TNT there, it will still fall down and explode.
- It is best to build it out of obsidian so they cannot simply TNT cannon their way inside.
- If you build a base that is easily found (like on the surface) and have no defenses (water on top, lava around, etc) then you're probably going to get ransacked.
- If you die, it lowers your power. If your power is low, you can't claim more land and others can claim over what you own, including all the builds on the land. However, you do not lose power from dying in a war zone.
- Do not leave even 1 block open. They can either boat glitch inside, or use an ender pearl.
- To set your home, do /sethome or set your faction home using /f sethome
- You can claim over land by using /f claim. You can unclaim it by using /f unclaim. You can unclaim ALL of your land by using /f unclaimall
- Bring teammates. Going on raids alone may be dangerous, especially if a group of enemies is hanging around.
- Bring TNT. You can make a cannon (see other post) and blow a hole in their base, maybe destroy chests and scavenge the items.
- When you are finished, smash all chests, furnaces, etc. They will have to start all over. The good thing about it is that you will have one less threat to worry about.
- If you need to make a second trip, do /sethome or /f home, and then go to your faction home or your personal home. Some servers allow you to use /back. If you brought a friend, you can TPA to them (/tpa [player name])
- When you kill someone, you gain power and they lose it. Knock their power low enough, then you can claim over their land.
- To create a faction, use /f create (faction name). Your faction name can not be longer than 10 characters.
- Use /f join to join a faction. Some factions require an invitation. You can use /f invite (player name)
- If you are a faction leader, you can do /f mod (player name) to make them a moderator. This allows them to claim and unclaim land, as well as to invite or kick faction members.
- If you lead a faction, and no longer want it, you can do /f disband. If you want to give it to someone else, do /f admin (player name)
- Do not let people you don't trust into your faction. They could backstab you at any time.
- If you want to be friends with another faction, do /f ally (faction name). However, they must accept it.
- If you hate another faction, you can do /f enemy (faction name)
- If you want to be not enemies but not allies, do /f neutral (faction name)
- The more faction members, the more power you get. Having more power allows you to get more land, and being able to keep other factions from claiming it.
- If you want to get more detail about a person or faction, do /f who (player/faction name). It will display online/offline members, land, power, maxpower, name, and description. It also shows their allies and enemies.
- To change your faction description, do /f desc (description here).
- Color codes: bright green= your faction, red= enemy faction, light purple = allied faction, white= neutral faction dark green= wilderness, yellow= safezone, dark red= warzone.
- If you want to see territories near you, do /f map. It will show you (the plus), your faction's land, allied faction's land, enemy faction's land, and wilderness.
- You can't build or mine in war zones or safe zones.
- A safe zone is an area that has no pvp and no monsters. This is usually spawn.
- War zones are areas where players and monsters battle. Servers usually have war zones at structures or in large pits. Sometimes they are right outside of safe zones.
- The wilderness is unclaimed. You can claim land from there, as well as build and mine. But beware as pvp is enabled and monsters will spawn.
- Fellow faction members, allied faction members, and neutral factions can't hurt each other. But hostile factions can duel it out in war zones or in wilderness.

Not all servers have it where you die in a certain territory and don't lose power. The one I usually played on until it was taken down, had it where death in a war zone did not result in power loss.
