Hey y'all,
Now I'ma here to show you how to make a decent maze in minecraft. Mazes are good as a general maps by themselves or great to be put in puzzle or adventure maps. They are a very useful and interesting feature, although if you do it wrong, they can end up being a complete and total disaster. Pay attention to my tips and hints closely and you'll soon be making mazes like a pro.

General Tips

Never make them medium or small. A big maze is the only exception.
Add traps or teasers. These are very good to frustrate or irritate the player, and that is the best thing that can happen.
Make sure you get rid of the 'stick to the left' trick. Put a trap or teaser there to show the player it won't work.
Make sure to build it high enough. A maze two blocks high is unacceptable and prone to cheating.
Make sure it is lit. Place torches around or make the floor glowstone to prevent monsters spawning.
Don't make it to straight. Make sure there is lots of dead ends and turns to make it more difficult.
Use interesting blocks for the walls. The better it looks the more it allures people to venture inside...
Make it playable for multiplayer. The more people raging the better.

thx. i made a maze, but it turned out waaaaaaay too easy. now i know y. i used world edit to make a bunch of straight lines, then added some blocks in the way and twists and dead ends. now i know not to do that. thx. click here to see it.
