Ok, to begin with this may seem like a rant, but it's not. It's a discussion about something, which I happen to dislike. So please don't call me out for ranting about things, I'm just trying to justify a point.

So, texture packs. We all love them, they make Minecraft look awesome and we can tailor them to how we want the game to look! Now, I have one problem with this... and that's builds/projects. Many people use texture packs to build things and that's fine, but the build should never rely on a texture pack. Some people who have to play on small laptops can't run reasonable texture packs, and honestly why would they want to? The default texture pack is there for them to use as it is universal to everything in the Minecraft world, but I am beginning to see more and more frequently that people rely on texture packs... and that shouldn't happen. People shouldn't have to download a texture pack to be able to look at something. For instance -

The above image shows my point exactly. A pretty bad build, turned into an awesome build with a texture pack. You should never have to rely on a texture pack to make your build look good. A good build looks great in all texture packs. Now one person in particular is someone called JamziboyMinecraft. He does amazing builds, and I absolutely love his style, but I hate the fact that he builds everything in a texture pack so that only a select number of people can view his builds properly. The opposite to this would me Madness64. Another awesome builder but he makes his designs open to everyone because he builds entirely in default! Now before you look at my builds and say 'Oh look his Viking Bundle is in a texture pack' look at the comments. I built it originally in default but a member of the community thought that it looked much better in the Conquest texture pack, so I uploaded the screenshots with that in mind.

I know that many of you will continue to build in texture packs, because they do, clearly, make things look better, but I just ask you to consider looking at your builds in default as well to make sure they look O.K. for everyone.

I hope you understand the point I am trying to make here, and I know I will not get across to everyone but to those of you that have read through this and take it into consideration, I salute you.

These types of builds can be made in vanilla minecraft without a texture packs if done right. Wool, quartz, stone brick. Come on guys, really?
