TODAY I have been really finishing the exploration of my current cave...and the system I'm in is STILL going! Insanely massive! I have decided to make an alternative entrance so I don't have to climb down to a cart ride, and go through about 3 other cave systems to get to it.

THE CAVE

One of the first things I did today was grab a bucket, filled it with lava for the first time, and took it to a skeleton spawn... This was the first skeleton spawn I had seen while playing Minecraft, and a couple days ago decided to block it off because the layout of the entryway into it was pretty dangerous and I had low materials at that time. So today, I came back better equipped, and with a lava bucket, dug a tunnel to the top of the spawner room, and dumped a lava bucket on their asses. It was very fun, and discovered that chests don't burn!

Anyway, I have been going further into this cave today, because it is so big. And will probably finish that up. Then I will finally get to work on really starting to build my world up, beginning with experimenting in making a huge waterfall to make a lake! I think it will end up more work than I think, but can't wait nonetheless :)

THE RAIN

On another note, today is the release of 1.5, and as I write this...ITS RAINING!! :) I have been playing almost all day, and I have now had my first witness of weather. Got to say that it's probably the most perfect weather system I've seen. It doesn't do it too often, and doesn't go on too long. It's perfect, because in other games it's obnoxiously often, and goes on hard and long. Minecraft really hit a high note with the weather and from the single rainfall I've seen, I feel very immersed. They really spent a lot of time on it. But the rain is BEAUTIFUL, and very lovely. Probably the best rain I've seen and felt immersed with in a game.

It began raining when I was coming back from my cave adventures. I had tried to dig my way up, and I hit sand, which killed me. Luckily, after searching in the desert near my treehouse, I was able to find a sand hole with all my stuff in it. So anyway, I came to my sandhouse, and started smelting, storing, etc. Then I heard a noise...like pretty waves almost. But I looked out, and it was raining! Yay!! I wanted to stare out my window and watch it, but it was night time, and the sun was rising and I wanted to save my spawn point to my sand house.

Another note is that the rain will also make the area around you cloudy, significantly (but not too much) obstructing your view distance, at least at night, when I saw it. It's very cool, and I heard that mobs are also affected by it in ways, so I can't wait to see more of it :)

Otherwise, will probably be playing all night and will keep posted tomorrow! :)

Farewell for now,
