Tomandgreen's Weekly News 12/18/12

It's that time once again, the weekly news presented by me, Tomandgreen! Not only do I have a lot of upcoming projects to tell you guys about, but I've got a holiday texture-pack, some cool Minecraft trivia, a more!

Under Construction

I have 4 projects that I'm working on at the moment: a holiday map coming out in exactly a week, a level 10 special for when that event arrives, a pvp game thing, and the large project that I've discussed previouly. The holiday map is going to be based on the 12 days of Christmas, where you are looking for 12 nether stars scattered around a magical snowy wonderland! It may or may not be using this week's featured holiday texturepack... The level 10 special is going to be based on a location in one of my favorite video games ever: The Legend of Zelda. My pvp game shall include many of the cool custom items I described in my blog of the same name, and will be reminiscent of Quake... Finally, the gigantic project will feature time-travel and an epic storyline! With so much to look out for, and some secrets I've yet to mention, I'd suggest you check back often!

Feels Like Christmas

Since texturepacks are always fun, and tis the season to be jolly, I thought I'd share the best holiday texturepack I've seen: NCSW This texturepack adds candy-cane torches, realistic snowmen, and Christmas-inspired paintngs that look very excellent! If you want to get into the holiday mood, I really recommend using this, and make sure to diamond it up because it's only at 1 diamond currently... Download now!

Minecraft Myths

I've been playing Minecraft for over two years now, and I'm still very interested in Mincraftian myths.. no, not Herobrine, things like it's more likley to catch fish in the rain, or that sand can be used in cannons. These things always make me wonder whether little secrets like these are frequently passed by the average player. I've done some testing in my years, and I'm hear to tell you a few things:

1. Fish are way easier to catch while it's raining... I wonder, does snow count?

2. Lava can replace water in cannons... useful in the Nether!

3. Maps work in The End and The Nether, but appear blank in the wrong world.

4. Sand cannons DO work... you'll need the sand to be falling though!

5. Diamonds veins range from 1 to 7, but two veins together can up the maximum!

Myserious Server Finale

My mincraft fan-fic entitled "The Mysterious Server" is published, and there are three (looong) chapters up. I've gotten some good feedback on it, and I think it's time to release the epic finale. It contains the answers to all of the ongoing mysteries and will leave with a nice cliff-hanger that a sequel could play off of! It's the best bit of the story by far, and it's the longest as well, so get yourself a cup of tea and sit yourself down to read the conclusion!

Helpful Tools

I've recently began using both MCEdit and TooManyItems to assist me in the creation of my projects, and I must say these things open up worlds of possbilities for me! Custom shops, special potions, hacked stacks, wierd blocks, and so much more! This only means that the quality of my work shall be going up, up, up!

Question Of The Week

The question of the week, a segment of the news where I pose a question for you guys to respond to is:

What Minecraft myths have you heard? Do you believe them?

Once more, the weekly news in all of it's glory! I hope you have a great week, bye-bye! -Tomandgreen
