Many people don't realize how important obsidian is. You collect it by mining with a diamond pickaxe, then you can build a NETHER PORTAL! From there you can get ghast tears, nether wart, lava (duh). Pretty important isn't it?

Next we have the CRAFTING TABLE!
You may think it is not underrated, but it is. When I talk with my friends on Skype, they talk about making enchantment tables or furnaces, etc. But they rarely talk about crafting tables. YOU NEED A CRAFTING TABLE TO MAKE PRACTICALLY EVERYTHING IN MINECRAFT!! Ever think of it that way?

Finally we have IRON ORE!
Ok, everyone says "Ooh I need diamonds!" "I need diamonds" but how do you get diamonds? You mine it with an IRON pick! Iron tools are awesome. Iron is common, so it's easy to make iron tools, swords, etc. It lasts a while, mines things pretty fast, and makes pretty good armor. A lot of things need iron in their crafting recipes. Examples: Flint and Steel, Pistons, Hoppers, and so on.
