Hello! My name is bigfoot49211, and this is my tutorial on using the /summon command that has been added in the 1.7 snapshot(s)! You are currently reading post:[ 04 ]of my tutorial. I will post more on seperate blog posts, so that you can learn everything you can about this amazing new feature!

Part Four: Item summoning!

[Introduction]Yes! It's finally been done! I have created a simple way to summon items using /summon! =D

I created a tutorial/showcase of the feature on youtube so that i could simplify the way i explained it.

Or you can click here to watch the video on YouTube.

[Syntax] The syntax to summon in a custom item entity is as follows:

/summon Item x y z {Item:{id:[bgcolor=rgb(0,0,0)]idgoeshere[/bgcolor],Damage:[bgcolor=rgb(0,0,0)]data/damagevaluegoeshere[/bgcolor],Count:[bgcolor=rgb(0,0,0)]ammountofitemsgoeshere[/bgcolor]}}
NOTE: THE ITEM COUNT MUST BE AT LEAST ONE, OR THE SUMMONED ITEM WILL BE A 'GHOST ENTITY'!

The highlighted parts are the ones you will change to your liking.

That's all for now! Leave a diamond/like if you thought it was useful! =)

Does anybody know how you would use the "/testfor" command to find a specific Item Entity on the ground, such as a Slimeball? I can't find the proper DataTags anywhere, please help!

Make a dummy scoreboard called slime: /scoreboard objectives add slime dummy
Have this command in a command block: /scoreboard players set @e[type=Item] slime 1 {Item:{id:minecraft:slime_ball}}
Take an output from this: /testfor @e[type=Item,score_slime_min=1]
Hope this helped :D

The only thing i could think of is a command block minecart that runs under the area, and then activator rails turn on for a tick, setting off the cart (summon item command in minecart). i tried this once, but i wasn't successful .-.

Good luck, and when the minigame is done, link me to it! I'm interested =3
