Hey all, Khao here and today I'll be making a tutorial on how to give your item;
LORE and a...
CUSTOM NAME! This type of Custom Name is special in a way, and I will reveal that to you in two minutes.

Note: I know some people already posted this kind of tutorial but admit it, some of them were pretty confusing. I'll have a go myself at one. Now let's get started!

First, open Minecraft and open your world where you have your item which you want your item to have the Custom Name/Lore. Empty out your inventory, and put your item in the hotbar. Once you have, save and quit.

Second, open up NBTEdit and click Open in your top left.

Third, look for your .minecraft folder, click saves, and click your world which you have your item at your hotbar. Then after that, open up level.dat (NOT players then (USERNAME).dat).

Fourth, after that opened up click Data: 24 Entries, then scroll down until you see Player: 34 Entries (or whatever number it says). Click it.

Fifth, scroll down until you see Inventory: 1 entry of type TagCompound. Click it.

Sixth, click the first item you see, it should say 4 entries or maybe 5 entries. Click the first item once.

Seventh, add a compound (Ctrl + 0), name it exactly tag (no capitals). While tag is currently selected, add another compound and name it display just like that (still no capitals).

Eighth, while display is currently selected, add a string (Ctrl + 8) and name it Name just like that, with the capital at front.

Ninth, click on display: 1 entry again and add a string (access by clicking List and selecting the String option). Name that string Lore (exactly like that).

Tenth, double click Name and name it whatever you would like. I'll be naming mine '§1The Honoured Blade Of §4§lMojang' . I shall tell you what the § symbols are for later on.

Eleventh, select Lore and add a string (Ctrl + 8) and name that string whatever you want, it is the lore for your item. Mine is '§4§oThis Sword is forged bit by bit by the workers at §1§oMojang§4§o.'.

Finally save it and open your Minecraft world again. If you hover on your item you should see that it's been changed to whatever you've written on Name and the Lore string. If not, try all instructions 1-11 all over again, only missing things you've already done.

Now that's finished, let me tell you what's so special about this method than using the ol' Anvil.

1. You can color it using the § symbols. Consult www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Formatting_codes for more info.

2. You can rename anything you want. From a wooden sword to a piece of dirt. Might as well make a Beating Rod! Heh. Try it out and see for yourself!

The outcome is the image from above.

Feel free for asking me questions on this topic.
If you appreciate this tutorial, please give me a diamond and possibly a favourite! Thanks!

Well... I think It is because u aren't using any mods just an external program that makes what you would be able to do normally easier
