When you go on a project, what dos it look like? A giant cathedral, dragon, or landscape. If so it was probably rendered and has a video with a shader or two. Then in the description is some crazy fan-fiction or super short description. Yet, you skip over another project. This other project was similar in scale and theme, and is actually quite good...but you didn't care. This is the problem with PMC projects at the moment, the flashier and large scale projects get all the attention, meanwhile the not as flashy ones are left in the dust.
Problems
These popular projects are really just one of three things:
- WorldPaint/ Edit projects that took a day to make
- Anover-scaledbuilding or creature that is only good to look at
- A redstone device that only does half of what it says it does
The Solution
Give projects a chance, and don't judge a book by it's cover. I'm not saying they are all great, but some are really good. Just because it isn't super pretty or has a youtube video doesn't mean it is bad. So some of you will read this and go, "Bro his projects suck, probably some 9-year-old n00b." You know what that is called? Being shallow.
