chapter-1/
You may want to read that first)
(In my story actually this isn't the second chapter, just had to shorten it so it would be easier to read on here)
(This part may or may not be in my book, its just as far that I've gotten on the draft so far, although I plan to edit things as I move on)
Enjoy!
A few days later things seemed to have calmed down a bit at the Coopers house. Besides the many neighbors and friends that came over
to help out, and the few times Katherine’s brother John came over to help out with things that Katherine couldn’t do alone, it didn’t
replace the place of his wonderful father.
Katherine, Landon’s mother seemed to take it worse then him, often he heard crying at
night. Father’s death was pretty hard to suit with no matter how much help they had been offered by neighbors and friends.
Life would never be the same, again.
Many said the saying that time heals wounds, but Landon highly doubted that, and he couldn’t think of anything worse that could happen, then it did.
“See you later, Son.” Mom opens the car door letting him out.
Now about a week after the funeral, Landon was here again, going back to school.
Landon grabs his backpack, then slowly gets out of the car. He bet that he’d be the butt of the jokes the only kid at school without a father. Oh great,
like he really wanted extra attention.
“Do I really have to----” Landon looks up at his mother with begging eyes.
Katherine nods her face having a seemingly stern expression.
“Just don’t worry, It can’t possibly be as bad as you think-”
Landon lets out a groan. He knew how much Katherine hated those, but he did it anyway.
Katherine sighs.
“Please, Do it for your father, will you…”
“I don’t want---”
“Landon.”
“Uh.., alright. But, that doesn’t mean I like it.” Landon lets out a moan.
Arguing wouldn’t bring him anywhere, his mom’s mind was decided and when it was
decided almost nothing could change it.
Katherine smiles.
“See you after school. I love you Landon.”
“I love you too, Mom” Landon mumbles back.
Katherine gives him a quick appearingly forced smile before she pulls away, leaving him awkwardly standing there, unsure of what to do.
Landon takes in a breath looking towards the school. What kind of day did he have in
for himself?
“I might as well get it over with.” He lets out another moan, rolling his eyes.
Then with all of the
courage he can pull up Landon walks towards the school where a group of guys are talking waiting for the bell to ring, standing on the stairs leading up to the school, they seem to be waiting… for something else. Landon peers over at them, just as he thought Jake, Wesley, and Sid. None other then, the school bullies.
Just who he wanted to see!
Jake looks over his shoulder, His eyes meet Landon’s.
Jake’s face turns into a grin as he says something to Wesley and Sid. They all now look
over at Landon.
