Earlier today i was contacted by a moderator, Gfiti beacuse i updated one of my projects (A small adventure map) saying "Making a new adventure map." Apparently this wasnt acceptable, and so i replied:

"Sorry, didnt quite understand what update logs were meant for, or what an acceptable use of them is. Perhaps a quick word on the update log page could stop this problem with other users."

I didnt receive a response. I see ALOT of stuff on this website that has moderators dealing with this so called "Abuse." Not anywhere could i find any sort of guidelines to what abuse might be. Nor anywhere on the site at all in fact. Not on the forums, not even in the terms of service. Technically, since there are no actual "Rules" to update logs, i did nothing wrong, or at least, what i had percieved to be wrong.

However, Gfiti was probably right. It was a bit unescessary of me to update a project just because i'm making another one. I respect his warning, and just as i do all of the moderators, am grateful for keeping this website under control. I will only be using the update log for actual updates on the projects/servers/whatever from now on.

Basically, what im trying to say is, maybe the staff of PlanetMinecraft could do themselves a favour and set up some guidelines in conveinent locations so they wouldnt have to deal with this kind of thing as much. For example, i wouldnt have done what i did if there was a small paragraph located on the update log page saying "Only use the update log if there is a major update/change to this submission" and whatever else needs to be written there.

But the update log is not a lone case of where guidelines need to be put in place. Im sure others will be able to locate where some guidelines need to be put in place. Maybe a rules page would be useful as well, as the terms of use page is pretty useless. It really doesnt explain anyhting about the acceptable submission of works or anything like that.

Lastly i'd like to thank PMC for providing such an excellent, free service to minecraftians everywhere!

I totally agree! My airplane was deleted because I posted the repaints that i finished in the update section! Doesn't that count as an update?! I really think they should add some guidelines somewhere.
