** This is an article that I would LOVE some feedback on... I'll be asking questions for readers to answer, too... **

Hello, lovelies.

I've been playing a lot of Survival Games lately, but I've noticed some servers have dramatically different player counts than the rest... For example, MCSG has, like, a BILLION people on (but they're always the same people), but Hive has a handful of regulars mixed in with a BILLION casuals...

Why is Hive more populated, but MCSG more popular? What's /actually/ the difference?
(If you have any ideas, please answer this in the comments)

Furthermore, when you're in the lobby for Hive, you have to wait for approximately 4 minutes before the games begin, but in MCSG, you only have to wait about 2. How long would you think is an appropriate waiting time?

Some MCSG games can go for 20-30 minutes, sometimes... and it's really intense and awesome, but everyone has a fair chance. On other Survival Games servers, the games go for about 10 minutes, and they're really intense and chests/loot is difficult to find... Do you prefer to have chests scattered in easy-to-find places, or would you rather have to really look hard for them and have them be kind of rare? <- I don't understand why there isn't a consistent ratio of chests to players... If you could explain that, too, that'd be great. xD

And now, because I don't really have any example scenarios, some random questions:

Do you like your matches with LOTS of people and fast, or a consistent 24 people and average time?

Is it better for a server to have their own original maps and arenas, or do you LIKE seeing other people's work displayed on the servers?

Do you think it's GOOD for there to be perks that you can donate for, or does it make the game unbalanced?

Any feedback is much appreciated. All of these questions have been floating around in my brain for a while, so I'm not sure if I'm the only one thinking about them or what... xD

Until next time :)

Well I wrote a longer version of this but when I submitted it it didnt work.

Good maps and good spawns set servers apart.

A 1-2 minute wait with a 4 minute wait every few games could
be good.

Maps should have tons of hiding places for players and
chests. The games should be longer. This allows for better strategy and more
fun.

Chests should be all over. Some hidden, some trapped, some
need to be accessed by activating a redstone circuit.

Seeing other peoples work is fine but not when ito s used on
every other server. Maybe allow people
to submit their works

There should be classes that players can choose from at the beginning
of each match. They would have different weapons etc. The donors could donate
for more options. The donor classes dono t have to be better, they just should
have more options.

The problem with the hive is that so many people are trying to play at once and its near impossible to get into a game without donating and if you do a donator kicks you out of the game. Donations are good because it keeps the server going but at the same time if you get perks in the game on mostservers it's very unbalanced I played on one server and all donators got sharpness 3 fire aspect 2 sword and they always won. about 20 min matches are good not long enough to get bored and not to short and it would be nice if there where more chests and it was easier for players to get them especially in the middle. Having 4 chests in the middle and about 6 people in each chest basically just means whoever clicks the fastest gets the stuff it would be nicer if there where more chests with fewer items. *shrugs* Im just being a dumb but ya know
