What Server?????Help!!!!

Hey over the last few months i've been playing minecraft i have found that playing on servers to me is a lot more fun than normal survival! But what is even better is playing on a server with your friends! But Whatever server we find theres always to much op donors or crappy noobs! So we decided to get a mc hoster to host our own hoster! I have looked around on the internet and i have found a few websites but what i really need help with is what server kind should i pick out? how much ram is needed and stuff if there is only 13 of us altogether how much ram should i get?
