So here is a little rant about why i hate 1.5 and how i think it should have been an optional update.
Ever since i heard 1.5 was going to be a redstone update i was always against it and wanted it to be an optional update.
I just got back into making minecraft mods and just released a mod a WIP but it has been rapidly delayed because of 1.5 since it has changed how everything is declared and set out. They have also ruined forge with sprite maps etc.. etc, There is a upcoming mod called SkyrimCraft 2 that has been delayed now due to 1.5.
I think mojang are too mindset on getting more sales and devoting all their time on making minecraft a map-makers game instead of keeping it how the old minecraft was like back in the 1.2.5 days where all the best mods where out and everything was simple!
Mojang are making everything so much more technical and difficult now for example adding so much useless things like light sensor, you are never going to use that in a survival world once you have a watch.
Personally i think minecraft has diverted from a fun survival game to a game full of loads of useless items that they just throw in for the fun of it. I hope 1.6 is much better than this update it has been a waste of time and caused so much hassle for mod makers and ruined the game so much more!

One more thing... many of the redstone items added can be used in survival if you learn how to use them.
