**NOTE- This rant in no way criticizes what happens at Minecon, this rant is about how the tickets were poorly distributed.** Every good minecrafter knows about Minecon. this year, it was held in Orlando last weekend, November 2-3. I live less than two hours away. I wasn't able to go. I know that a lot of people didn't, but what really urks me is the WAY the tickets were sold. The way that the tickets were sold is this: whoever gets there first can choose 1-6 tickets per person. If a person chooses LESS than 6 tickets, they are thrown back into the pot for everyone to have at. The problem with this is that there is no queue. that means that when it offers you the chance to buy tickets, the website was also showing those tickets to the rest of the world, meaning that whoever has the fastest internet or clicks gets them before you, even when the website told you that you can in fact buy tickets. I understand that Minecon was supposed to be "personal", but only 7500 tickets is pretty measely, especially when the event is being held in a center that can hold about 45,000 people relatively easily. This next portion is a bit more on the iffy side, but I feel that it would have been a good idea to offer a separate batch of tickets to Florida residents, or to sell them at the door to those who probably will never get another chance to go due to the fact that Minecon will probably not be held anywhere near Florida anytime soon. Feel free to argue about this all you like, but this is just my opinion.
