I am currently wondering why mojang should and CAN add HD texture pack support. It'd be easy.
WHY THEY CAN:

- Changing the graphics resolution is easy.
- That's it.
WHY THEY SHOULD:

- People can get a better looking minecraft without them knowing how to install mods.
- Texture Pack makers can have confidence they will get popular easier.
- We can use the texture packs all the famous youtubers use if you like it :D (go back to #1)

You should be able to have high resoultion texture packs by default, because there are some people that dont know how to get mcpacther...
It can also be hard because you can't have MCPatcher with most mods... So that would be a huge bummer for people who have and want to keep lots of mods
So this is a good idea, :(), enjoyed reading, a little small but thats ok
