I hate to have this seem like any other diamond rant on this site, and ive seen other peoples points of view on the matter but i haven't seen anybody share my same thoughts yet and i feel the urge to share it to maybe have other users become more optimistic about it. It seriously confuses me why getting diamonds on this site is such a challenge, i do however have some hypothesise on other's reasons but i have counter reasons to those as well.
Firstly my confusion in true detail it that my top skin for instance has got roughly 100 downloads, which is not much considering other what people would consider "popular skins" on here, but i look at that 100 downloads and 230 views i think;"wow out of 230 people who saw my skin, 100 of those people liked it enough to WANT IT". assuming you don't download a skin because you don't like it right?? of course not! you download a skin that you WANT!! and generally you want good things?? that benefit you or make you satisfied.
So just to clarify; to give a diamond to something on this site is and act of appreciation to show that you thought it was good and the creator of whatever it was did a good job of doing it, and there is no limit of diamonds you can give out and the site does not record how many diamonds you have distributed soo if you found something you liked and wanted to have does that not make it worthy of a diamond? my first hypothesis for this is people are just lazy and they don't care about showing their appreciation to the creator because they just want to download the f**king skin and get on with their day. But what is one more click to help out that person who selflessly contributed their work and effort to you! for your very satisfaction!? Of course i thought up of another reason why one wouldn't give a diamond may be simply because they cant! Because you don't need a planet Minecraft account to download a skin but you do need a planet Minecraft account to give a diamond, but according to the stats on this site 70% of ip addresses that view this site everyday are logged in which means i should be at least getting 60 to 70 diamonds for that skin that had 100 downloads right?
i ask "Give a diamond if you like it!" on every skin i upload here and i bold capitalize it and turn the color blue because i want people to be reminded that that is what we as contributors need as motivation on this site!We don't get paid and nobody is telling us we have to do anything on here, but we choose to because we like to help. Its diamonds and Favourites and positive feed back that make us try harder and come up with even better material and more importantly feel appreciated for our efforts. So next time you click download consider returning the favour and
give a diamond!
