Sometimes, life passes you by. You laugh, you cry, and eventually, you die. At your funeral, people always talk about that time you safe their life, or how you always put a smile on their face. In the end, we would all like such a glorious thing as to remembered as the joy bringer... but no one every speaks of the little times. The times were you grew closer as friends or siblings. Why that is I wonder, that the truly important moments in life get dashed away, smothered behind semi meaningless spurts of happiness like your first kiss. It might have been a special moment at the time, but what about when your relationship crashed and burned... what then? Or when you married and had many more kisses after that and the simply mixed together after a long time...
What will the human race succeed to after all true happiness has faded to dust in the wind. When we long forget the time we comforted the bullied child, or helped make that large fire with our friends, or made the winning shot in the big game. What then? Will we sit and ponder about what we should have done differently in life, always looking back instead of looking forward?
The time we look back, and try to change our past is the time we die, as a race in whole. We will never succeed if God wills it, so why even dream. We should latch onto our happy memories and forget the past. A task almost impossible for us mere mortals. Not even I have accomplished such a daunting feat. But when we succeed to forget our past, and stride toward the future, bringing our happy, praiseworthy memories, of the time we played catch with our son, or the time we helped a child strive to success in school, only then will we, as the whole human race, live in eternity...
