Hello,

in this tutorial I want to explain you step by step how to create custom brushes in World Painter and how to use them, for example to create a realistic looking mountain.

I added a download link with my brushes and templates

STEP 1:

At first, you need a highmap. You can make it by yourself or download it from the internet.

If you want to draw it, you have to pay attention on some things:

1. I recomment you to use a template (for mountains I recommend the large

template)

2. It should be white on black, meaning that white means maximum effect and black means no

effect

3. save your file as .png

4. Your white picture must be completely surrounded with black

5. It should be 8-bit grey scale

But you can also download them from the internet :)

Example:

STEP 2:

Start on World Painter

Then klick on Tools -> Open custom brushes folder

Put all your files in this folder and restart the programm.

STEP 3:

Now you can use your custom brushes.

The new brush will appear as an extra button on the Brush panel, and you can use it just like any other brush.

Download my brushes and templates -> *klick*

If you like it, please leave a diamond and / or subscribe :)

WorldPainter uses heightmaps as its models for brushes. Heightmaps are greyscale, top-down images of landscapes, where white is the highest elevation and block is the lowest. The second sentence is self-explanatory: You can make these yourself, or download the heightmaps that others have made.
