Ever wondered why ppl hate your builds? Maybe you just havent met your inner architect yet.
Your inner architect simply starts when you build your first dirt shack. Yes a dirt shack, one of those 5 by 5 by 3 houses that are nothing but dirt squares. Eventually you start using wood cuz it looks better, still a square or rectangle tho. The next step is when you start doing basic roofs like those in NPC villages. Eventually you may start adding pillars and rooms to your house. Then you start with using slabs and stairs for your roof. Soon you will build houses that look realistic. You have met your inner architect. :/ super easy huh?
