Have you ever wanted to do a slide puzzle in your Minecraft World? Well now you can! (1.26+. This will likely work on anything 1.21 or later, but I have not tested anything besides 1.26.2)
This 5x5 slide puzzle is contained within a datapack. All you have to do is uncomment a few commands depending on your preferences, and have enough maps in your world to do the puzzle (25). And download the files of course
This datapack comes with:
- 150 possible scrambled puzzle starts. By the time you've done them all you won't remember what the first one looked like
- Two sided puzzle, so that two people can work on the same puzzle, or one can watch without a player in the way
- Complete interactivity, using interaction entities and maps on item frames
- Did I mention this does not require a resource pack
- Beautiful screenshots of this puzzle in action (wait that's in this thread, not the datapack)
Additionally, I have provided the world file I originally created this in here, just in case you need help setting this up in your own world.

Note: Multiplayer testing has not really occurred. There shouldn't be any issues, but please let me know if there are. I'll update this if there are any bugs found.
