Note: The file you download is used as both a data pack and a resource pack. Make sure you have it in your world's data pack folder - and that you have it applied in your resource pack area.

What does this pack add?

- 🔪 Daggers are crafted with a stick, any material, and an amethyst shard (new amethyst use 👀).

- 📈 They have no attack cooldown, effectively meaning you can spam click as much as you want. This comes at the cost of your damage per hit, which is a bit less than it would be if you used a sword, and a lot less than it would be with axes. Remember though, that even though your weapon doesn't have a cooldown, anything you hit still has to finish its animation before you can damage it again! You still can't damage mobs while they're red.

- 💪 Zombies can spawn with daggers (like with other tools). The higher the difficulty, the more likely they are to spawn with them.

- 👞 Daggers are great to have in your hotbar, even for players who aren't into combat. Holding a dagger will give you a small speed boost. It's not a lot, but it's fun!



Notes on compatibility and performance

- 🛠 This data pack will be compatible with pretty much every other data pack, aside from ones that do really dumb stuff.

- 🏆 This data pack doesn't tick as many commands as most other data packs - averaging only 1 command per tick - meaning it won't lag out your server or world.

Yes, it is! Just unzip the file and delete the "recipes" folder inside the "daggers" folder.

Can u make it so when a dagger has sharp enchated it shows the correct damage of the item
Because it shows the same damage with sharpness and wothout any

Thanks for the tip! This would require me to make the pack somewhat tick-based which wouldn't be good for lag. If you'd like to know how much damage your dagger is doing, the formula is [ 0.5 * (sharpness level - 1) + 1.0 + original damage of the item ]

Nice Datapack! Its really satisfying to use daggers, and at the same time, they arent way to op. Almost feel a bit underwhelming though, considering the extremely low amount of damage because of weakness.

Glad you enjoyed it :) You can enchant daggers with all sword enchantments, which incudes sharpness for buffing the attack damage. If you'd like to disable the weakness entirely, unzip the file and head to data/dagger/functions/hit.mcfunction
