Assassin's Creed Creator Datapack
by Marcellesko

Description:

This datapack is a creation tool that allows the user to integrate features of the game series Assassin's Creed into their world. Those include climbing, synchronizing, assassinating, hiding in hay and the leap of faith. The datapack utilizes spawn eggs to create the spots where some of the features can be used. Those spots can be placed, removed and detected to make it easy to create an Assassin's Creed adventure.

Datapack Guide:

Getting started:

Overview Message:
Title Overview Message

When reloading the game, an overview message gets displayed in the chat. From there you can click on a button to receive a guide book and another button to open the settings menu in the chat.

You can get the guide book by either clicking on the button in the overview message or by typing '/function ac:admin/guide' as am operator.

Spawn Eggs:
Title Spawn Eggs

By either clicking the button on the second page of the guide book or by typing '/function ac:admin/give_items' as an admin you will receive all the spawn eggs necessary to create and handle the feature spots.
You will get the spawn eggs for the following purposes:
- Creating a climbing spot
- Creating a synchronization spot
- Creating a hiding spot
- Removing a feature spot
- Detecting all feature spots

Features:

Title Climbing

Creating a climbing spot:

By flying in an empty block in midair and then using the "Create A Climbing Spot" spawn egg somewhere, a climbing spot will be created at that block. If there already is a climbing spot at that block or the block beneath is something else than air, the process will be denied. If the climbing spot is successfully placed, a glowing ladder will shortly appear to symbolize the position of the feature spot.
(If you want to make a path up a wall for someone to climb on, you need to create multiple climbing spots on top of each other.)

Climbing:
If you sneak inside the block of the climbing spot, a barrier block will be set below you temporarily. Once you unsneak or go outside the block, you will fall down.

Title Synchronization

Creating a synchronization spot:

When standing on a block and using the "Create A Synchronization Spot" spawn egg somewhere, a synchronization spot will be created there. If there already is any other feature spot on that block or if the block below is not solid the process will be denied. If the synchronization spot is successfully placed, a glowing bat will shortly appear to symbolize the position of the feature spot.
(I recommend to put synchronization spots on a ledge somewhere high up to enhance the experience.)

Synchronizing:
While standing on a synchronization spot you need to sneak for about one second, unsneak and then jump to start the synchronization animation.

Title Hiding Spots

Creating a hiding spot:
When standing on a block and using the "Create A Hiding Spot" spawn egg somewhere, a hiding spot will be created there. If there already is any other feature spot on that block or if the block below is not solid the process will be denied. If the hiding spot is possible, a menu opens in the chat and you have four options:
- Pile of Hay
- Pair of Curtains

- Custom Hiding Spot
- Cancel

Hiding Screenshot 1

- The pile of hay spawns a fake hay block at it's position that you can walk through and hide in.
- The pair of curtains spawns two fake kelp blocks above one another than you can walk and hide in.
- The custom hiding spot does not spawn any fake blocks but still allows you to hide in it's location, giving you the option to be creative with the design of the hiding spot.

Hiding:
While standing in a hiding spot you need to sneak to become invisible and get a slight speed boost by default.

Title Assassinations

To assassinate any mob, sneak right behind it and swing at it with a sword. You will receive a high level strength effect, allowing you to kill anything with one hit.
By default you need at least a gold sword to successfully assassinate a mob.

Title Leap of Faith

To perform a leap of faith you only need to fall through an area three blocks above either a custom hiding spot or a pile of hay hiding spot. You will briefly receive a resistance effect, blocking the fall damage.

Title Removing Spots

To remove a feature spot, go to the spot and use the "Remove Any Created Spot" spawn egg somewhere. When holding this spawn egg, fake blocks from any hiding spot get removed to enable you to use the spawn egg.
If you want to remove all of the created feature spots all at once, you can type '/function ac:admin/remove_all' as an operator.

Title Detecting Spots

When using the "Make Any Created Spot Glow Shortly" to detect where the feature spots are located, all the feature spots receive a respective symbol that glows for five seconds.
The following feature spots have those glowing symbols:
- Climbing spot 🠖 Glowing Ladder
- Synchronization spot 🠖 Glowing Bat
- Hiding Spots:
  - Pile of hay & pair of curtains 🠖 Glowing full block + glowing eye of ender
  - Custom hiding spot 🠖 Glowing grass block + glowing eye of ender

Those glowing symbols also appear for one second when creating a new feature spot.

Title Uninstall

To uninstall the datapack from your world, type '/function ac:admin/uninstall' as an operator. You will receive two options:
- Uninstall and keep all created feature spots
- Uninstall and remove all created feature spots

Uninstall Screenshot

If you keep the created feature spots and reenable the datapack afterwards, all of the spots will work again.
If you do not keep the feature spots, all of them will be removed and the datapack reset.
In both cases all the scoreboards will be removed to reduce the amount of scores.

Possible Future Features:
- Air assassinations
- Rope elevators

- Mission indicators
- Compass indicator
- Eagle vision
- Removing feature spots in a radius
