Required Resource Pack
149
IMPORTANT: This datapack is based entirely around the video shown here, I watched it at some point and decided 'what if that existed' and so I made this datapack, also this datapack isn't getting any form of major update. Don't pester me about updating it. Also this datapack will likely not work on spigot or paper servers
This Datapack adds in several new copper tools, replaces Chainmail with Copper Armor, and a whole new mechanic to copper as a whole!
Features
- Copper Networks
Copper Blocks, Cut Copper Blocks, and Lightning Rods are now able to form 'networks' by putting them in wires and making them gather electricity from doing anything from smelting items in furnaces to extracting the tears from crying obsidian to even harnessing lightning itself using lightning rods! Placing Lightning Rods on top of Cut Copper will allow energy to be stored in the rod, similarly to a battery. Be careful however, as the energy discharges if it has nowhere to go and if too much energy discharges in one spot... it explodes with the power of a charged creeper. Another effect from the network is when you touch an energy bolt without wearing copper boots, you will get a Zapped status effect that constantly deals random damage and goes away after some time or when you enter water, the effect can kill so be careful when constructing your networks. You can throw copper ingots on top of Furnaces and Crying Obsidian to make them connect to networks.
- Copper Tools and Armor
They act the same as iron tools and chainmail armor respectively until they get charged up, where depending on the amount of energy harnessed, the stronger they will become. When charged, the Sword and Axe are able to summon lightning, the Pickaxe is able to auto-smelt ores and stones, and the Armor gives you potion effects! Oh yeah, you also act as a weaker lightning rod when wearing a copper helmet.
- Block Properties
Placing a Lodestone or a Netherite Block in a Network's wire will boost energy that goes through them, the Netherite Block buffs the energy by a lot more than a Lodestone does, and both apply differences to the energy that gets boosted. Netherite causes the energy to move twice as fast, while the Lodestone causes the energy to have a chance to oxidize blocks it passes through. Iron Blocks also send a half-second redstone pulse when a bolt of energy goes through it.
- Harvesting the Energy
Wearing Copper Boots and standing on lightning rods that have energy stored in them will charge your copper gear up, the gear can become more powerful than Netherite when it's fully charged up and applies several different buffs, enchantments, and insane amounts of armor and damage. You gradually lose the energy stored over time, so you can only use it around your copper network before you run out of juice. Forgot to mention you blow up if you touch water while wearing charged armor.
- Conclusion
Basically, funny copper go zap, this datapack gives copper a bigger usage outside of being a lightning attracting building block. Gives us something to do with the sheer amount of copper you can find in a world.
