I was not originally planning to create this one, but it was suggested to me after showcasing the Gold Geodes pack in the VanillaTweaks Discord server. For this one, I learned a couple more tricks to create a different kind of environment for finding the geodes. Hopefully you find this concept interesting!
On the outside, these geodes are made up of unsuspecting deepslate. The middle layer is comprised of tuff, and the inner layer is again deepslate. Embedded in this inner layer are deepslate diamond ores, scattered around.
These are most definitely not an effective, efficient, nor practical source of diamonds from mining. Their existence is more like a method to add some variation and immersive-ness to Minecraft's geology. Good luck! Seriously, this time you might need a lot of it...
This datapack is compatible with Terralith. If you are using another worldgen pack, check to see if the pack edits the deep_dark biome folder.

"Where do I find these?"
This time around, the diamond geodes are undoubtedly ultra-rare. Even in spectator I felt that it was impossible to find them. They can spawn from about y-51 up to y-16. The trick with these geodes is that they ONLY spawn in the Deep Dark, and only within or nearby caves. However, they typically are buried beneath a couple layers of inconspicuous deepslate. To add onto that, they can be hidden by the layers of sculk that cover the caves of the Deep Dark. Think you can keep quiet enough to elude the Warden?
The intended effect was that of the first image, however it is mostly lost in how rare I have configured them for distribution.

Is This Balanced?
After reading all that, do we really need an explanation?
I could barely find one within a few thousand blocks of area. That was torture...

Rarity not to your tastes? Try this:
As like my other data packs, you can change the rarity by adjusting the "chance" value. Navigate to ~/Diamond Geodes/data/tbm_diamond_geodes/worldgen/placed_feature to do so (higher numbers being more rare).
Another option I will recommend— if you want them to appear more commonly— is to change the "rarity_filter" entirely, and instead insert a "count." You can find an explanation and tools to do so at:
https://misode.github.io/
The way the placed_feature file works in this one causes the placement to fail more often than typically expected, so this "count" value may have to be decently high in order to "brute force" its spawning.
