hold shift(crouch key) on top of a Muddy Mangrove Roots block to get mangrove roots and mud
Cauldron
Throw Dirt, Coarse dirt, or Rooted dirt on a cauldron to get mud
Campfire
Mud ---> Coarse Dirt
Muddy Mangrove Roots ---> Packed Mud
Stonecutter
Packed Mud ---> Mud bricks, Mud brick wall, Mud brick Slab, Mud brick stair
Alternative Datapack without cauldron and shift functions: Confy Mud
