Haunting Shadows[Update: New Boss/ Structure]

    Hey guys, I present to you my first ever datapack. It is a prototype and I plan to add a lot more to it. There will probably be some bugs so if you notice anything please let me know. The datapack adds a new mob/event to the game. At a random time in game the players' base will become haunted. The haunting will leave the player unable to sleep, the ghost responsible will steal items dropped on the ground, it will make spooky sound effects and from time to time damage the player and give them the darkness effect. To kill the ghost and end the haunting the player must acquire a soul lantern and hold it in their main hand. If the ghost is nearby the lantern will emit red flames and a faint sound can be heard. As the player moves closer to the ghost the flames will change to blue and the sound will get louder. Finally as the player is right next to the ghost the flames turn black and the sound is at its loudest, at this point the ghost will temporarily reveal itself allowing the player to hunt it down. It will try to run and if it isn’t killed fast enough it will become invisible again and the player will need to use the lantern once more. The ghost drop Essence of the Abyss which can be use do perform rituals. To perform a ritual you first need a ritual station. To obtain it merely drop an enchanting table onto a crafting table and drop one essence of the abys onto it as well. This will transform the crafting table into a ritual station. To perform a ritual first right click on the ritual station and place in the following crafting recipe: Four bones on the corners one crying obsidian in the center and fill out the remaining spots with essence of the abyss. After placing the crafting recipe in Bring one of your pets (dogs, cats, parrots) near the ritual station and the particles will change from blue to orange. The final step is to bring a villager close to the station. The villager will be sacrificed however your pets will gain an immense boost in power. Upon completing the ritual the crafting recipe you place in at the start will be consumed.
    Buffs for dogs: The ritual completed on a dog causes the dog to become larger in size. It also gains additional health points and the ability to climb up 3 block high walls.
    Buffs for cats: Once a ritual is performed on a cat it will begin to emit green particles and it will from time to time drop useful items to the player like golden apples, emeralds and sometimes even diamonds (This is vary unbalanced btw, it can be abused so keep that in mind)
    Buffs to parrots: The ritual causes parrots to grow in size like the dog. It also emits glowing particles and it can reveal the positions of hostile mobs within a 20 block radius (perfect for finding caves or avoiding danger)

    Update:
    New Crafting recipie in the Ritual station: By placing one torch in the middle slot of the Ritual Station and one Abyss esense right above it you will get an Eclipse Torch. This item can be used to summon the new boss once you find the new structure.

    New Structure: A new structure now spawns in the Desert and Dark Forest Biomes. It is the place where you can summon the new boss. Once you enter it you will notice a central shrine and 4 big candles around it. To summon the boss simply drop one Eclipse Torch In each of the 4 big unlit candles surrounding the central shrine. This will trigger the boss summoning. Oh and If you are too lazy to explore your world to find the structure the following command will tell you the location of the nearest one; /locate structure namespace:shadow_colizeum

    The New Boss: The new boss known as the eclipse flame will spawn in after the shrine is activated via the steps listed above. Once near it the player will be unable to brake or place any blocks. It is located high up and is immune to arrows so in order to damage it the player must use the wind vents which are scattered around the arena to boost up and reach the boss(you can tell where they are based on some particles which will appear). upon damaging the boss it will, in retaliation, summon a big mob spawner which explodes into 4 netherite clad zombies. While these zombies are alive the wind vents will be shut off meaning the player must defeat them in order to reach the boss and damage it again. In addition to this the boss has two attacks. For the first one it fiers off a beam which upon hiting a surface or entity explodes to deal massive damage. For the second attack the boss will summon a jaw trap underneath one players feat which will rise up and snap at that player. It deals damage and temporarily disables the player making them unnable to move. As of now the boss has a drop known as the Chared Soul Fragment. It does not do any thing yet however that will change in the next update.

    Sorry guys I just noticed there was a glich with the bossbar of the boss hopefully now it is fixed. I also started working on functionality for the boss drop. It can now be crafted into a soul container hwever the soul container itsself does not have a use yet so stay tuned for the next update.
