This datapack adds item display cases that you can display dropped items that will never despawn and can never be picked up. Use this pack to display your cool items!

Features

  • Make it glow in the dark like a glow item frame
  • Use a name tag to rename the item.
  • Encase the item in glass to keep it safe from fire, lava, etc.
  • More customizability coming soon!

How To Use:

  1. Place down a valid display block (All beacon base blocks)
  2. Drop the item that you want to be displayed in the display block.
  3. Then drop an item frame next to the dropped display item.
  4. To remove break the display block and you will be able to pick the item up.

How To Customize:

  1. To change valid display blocks go to:
    pack/data/item_display/tags/blocks/display_blocks.json
  2. Inside that file, you can change what blocks are valid.
  3. Once you have changed it type '/reload' to reset the datapack

  • Block of Gold minecraft:gold_block
  • Block of Iron minecraft:iron_block
  • Block of Diamond minecraft:diamond_block
  • Block of Emerald minecraft:emerald_block
  • Block of Redstone minecraft:redstone_block
  • Block of Quartz minecraft:quartz_block
  • Block of Coal minecraft:coal_block
  • Chiseled Stone Bricks minecraft:chiseled_stone_bricks

General

  • Updated for 1.19.4
  • Now uses the item_display and text_display entities for better performance and customizability.

New

  • Using a Glow Ink Sac on the item display will make it glow in the dark like a glow item frame
  • Using an Ink Sac on a glowing item display will make it not glow.
  • Using a Name Tag on the item display will rename the item.

Fixes

  • The item now not pop off once created.

im not sure whats wrong but it is snaping to the display but then it does still let me pick it up, is there a fix for that? otherwise i LOVE this datapack

How To Use Item Display Datapack:

1. Place down a valid display block.
2. Drop the item that you want to be displayed.
3. Then drop the item frame with the display item. (make sure your display item is dropped first)
4. To remove break the block and you will receive your item.

Anyway to get the Item frame back too when broken?

Yout should get the item frame back, even it the item frame is invisible you should be able to break/punch the invisible item frame or the block that it's on.

Unfortunately this isn't the case, after trying several times, I only ever get the block and floating item back.
