Magic in Minecraft [McMagic]

Firstly, make sure the datapack is installed properly. If it is, it will say something in chat upon running /reload. You should also see some text above your hotbar. Let's go over that text.

The first number is your level. For each level you have, you can use 1 Mana Tome to increase your maximum Mana. For now you are only level 1, but you can gain XP to level up by killing Zombies, Skeletons, or Spiders (Other mobs are not done).

Now let's go over the magic portion of this datapack.

Firstly, you will need at least 1 Lapis Block and a Cartography Table. Once you have both, throw the Lapis on top of the table to make a new item, the Magic Table (Excuse my poor 3d modelling skills, you'll just have to use your imagination, this table can even be placed and picked up. Now, while you were getting lapis you may have also gotten a gem, either "Ruby", "Sapphire", "Topaz", or "Amethyst". If you did, we will use that for crafting wands later. For now, you'll need another Lapis Block, 2 Leather, and 6 Paper to make a Mana Tome. Right click the table to open up the Magic menu, and put in the following recipe:

it should automatically make a "Mana Tome" item, which you can right click to use and gain your Mana. Your Mana will regenerate naturally to whatever your Max Mana is, which you just increased with the book. Now, you're still too low Mana to wield most wands, the only one you can wield is the Fire Rod. Continue leveling up and using more books until you have enough mana to wield whichever wands you'd like from the next section. Thank you for reading!

Mana Tome:

Allows you to increase your max Mana by 20 per level.

Fire Rod:


Shoots a blaze fireball which can be blocked by shields very easily. Costs 20 Mana.

Ice Rod:


Shoots a slow moving, AoE snowball that inflicts Wither and Slowness. It can hit multiple enemies, and go through them as well. Costs 25 Mana.

Poison Rod:


Shoots a vine which stuns and poisons 1 nearby enemy. Costs 25 Mana base but will increase in cost as you level up.

Lightning Rod:


Shoots a bolt of lightning that deals high damage, blinds enemies, and inflicts Weakness. Costs 35 Mana base but will increase in cost as you level up.

Strength Brace:


When held in your offhand, grants Strength 2. Requires level 4.

Mana Ring:


When held in your offhand, grants a heavy increase in Mana regeneration. Requires level 8.
