Compatible with Minecraft 1.21.1.

Sam's Trinkets adds a new set of items to Minecraft called Trinkets! Trinkets are crafted from a Crafting Table and provide boosts to your character while in your inventory. This datapack makes use of 24w10a's recipe components to create custom items!

Add all of the trinket recipes to your Recipe Book by granting the 'Trinket Time!' advancement. This can be granted by collecting diamonds, or by entering this command:
/advancement grant @s only sams_trinkets:trinket_time

This datapack is designed to be vanilla-friendly and is compatible with multiplayer.

Dark Trinket: Grants Night Vision
Eye of Ender Trinket: Nearby Ender-type mobs glow
Hearty Trinket: +5 Hearts
Heavy Trinket: Increases Knockback Resistance
Lava Trinket: Grants Fire Resistance
Lucky Trinket: Increases Fishing Luck
Rabbit Trinket: +0.5 Block Jump Height
Strong Trinket: +3 Melee Damage
Sugar Trinket: +20% Movement Speed
Underwater Trinket: Grants Dolphins Grace

  • Fixed a misspelled folder in pack format 48 that prevented effects from triggering.

Yeah, did more testing in multiplayer. When my brother, who has fire and luck trinket in his invetory is near me, I sometimes get their effects even though I don't have the trinkets. Pretty sure it has to do with target selectors that are not very specific. Not sure how to fix. There should be a way to embed a specific player name in a component upon creation of the trinket and then target only this player after, if it's even possible in a datapack.

Interesting idea! I will look into cleaning up the target selectors. Which version of Minecraft are you running where you are seeing that issue?

We play the potato snapshot. I suspect this issue is not specific to this version though...

Playing on the potato snapshot. Kinda work, kinda not :/ It's random, sometimes it activates, sometimes not. Even though the fire resistance timer shows on the inventory. I suspect the timer is too short. Try giving more thant one or 2 seconds of fire resistance.

This datapack will not work at all in the potato April Fools snapshot. The datapack version is set for after that version of the game.

It kinda work though. Just, intermittently. Actually, it works better when there's only one player on the server. When we're 2, it's like the player targeting of the command is screwed.
