A small project allowing players to craft a "nighthawk" its a summoning tool that can be used to summon a large phantom that can be ridden.



You right click with your "nighthawk" to summon and mount it and off you go, you dont have to worry about a pen for the creature beacuse as soon as you dismount it blips into the aether! (only to be later recalled by you with your nighthawk)

Hi, is it possible back port to 1.20.1 or does it use special functionality from 1.21?

hello I just downloaded the data pack today but there's a problem I cant direct the phantom to a direction I want it just flies in one direction after that it starts bugging out and I cant leave when I press shift

Hmm this isnt something ive seen as a bug before, do you have other mods loaded? a very laggy pc? friends nearby? plz let me know the steps to reproduce this bug

i have no mods installed just this datapack also does the control works like mounting a horse or is there a different steering?

The controlls should be simmilar to riding a horse, when the phantom is summoned you should automatically mounted to it, not being able to leave the phantom is very odd tho, are you using the latest version of mc?

yes im using the latest version unless its the built in optifine is doing the bug does it support optifine?

oh I just realised.. is shift your sneak key? press your sneak key to dismount... also press f3 +2 to see internal server tps, tell me if you see any red lines there or have a tick rate of more than 3ms average...

Hi, I thought I'd mention this but on modrinth you mistakenly uploaded rideable phantoms update in better trees project.

Speaking of better trees when can we expect version for 1.21.4?

alas I knwo about the "mistakenly uploaded rideable phantoms update in better trees" thing, the version is labeled as redundant and shouldnt be used. new version of better treees(birches is live, but im not sure if I should continue the old branch
