This datapack adds hydration into the game in the form of a very simple thirst bar.

How it works:

Jumping, sprinting, swimming and walking all use decrease your hydration (by different amounts) while eating foods such as stews and fruits, or drinking water will fill it up.

Your thirst bar goes down at different speeds depending on where you are. It depletes faster in warm biomes, or the nether and takes longer in cooler biomes.

Note: This datapack uses a resourcepack to show the thirst bar. The resource pack is required, without it enabled you will not see your hydration level (does not apply to mod version)

Rewrote entire datapack, removed shadow from thirst bar, tweaked thirst bar colours, updated to 1.20.1, uploaded to Modrinth, and tweaked dehydration values

i spent 4 hours in survival just to die to dehydration , the kicker is that every time i respawn my hydration is stuck at 0 and i have no bottles or water nearby to fix this , i just respawn , and within 15 seconds die , please fix that because now i wasted 4 hours on a world i cant play

I haven't touched this pack in forever so it's probably broken because of differences between versions. If you go into the 'datapacks' folder in the world you can just remove the data pack and you will be able to continue playing it as a regular survival world

hey i was trying to use this mod pack and it does work there is just one problem and idk how to fix it
basically the water icon is really dark and i cant tell if i have or dont have water

Make sure the Simple Hydration resource pack is at the top of your list, or if you are using the mod version on fabric make sure the pack "Fabric-Mods" is at the top of the list. Hope this helps.

I have the same problem! Lemme guess are using Vanilla Tweaks as well? This bug has been driving me crazy, it shouldn't be happening. Even if I just use Vanilla Tweaks to do 1 thing, that is completely unrelated to HUD still somehow the icons get darkened, but when I remove it, it goes back to normal, this needs to be fixed.

Make sure that the Simply Hydration resource pack is above Vanilla Tweaks in the resource pack list. If you are using the mod version on fabric make sure the "Fabric-Mods" resource pack is above Vanilla Tweaks in the pack list. This happens because they both modify the same shader, meaning one loaded above the other overrides the original.
