This data pack introduces a Smart Sign that can be placed on a chest to display the total number of slots occupied.
To turn a sign into a Smart Sign simply craft a Smart Sign Controller with Redstone, iron and a sign vertically (see images) and shift right-click a sign with it. It will only work if the sign is a wall sign placed directly on a chest face. You can wax the sign later to avoid accidentally editing it.
Works for single and double chests!
