BASICS

Speedrun against your friends in the same world!
3 teams are available for speedrunners, each with their own progress tracker.

Check out each team's progress step by opening the new advancement screen. You will also see toasts in-game as steps are achieved and the progress bar at the top update (if it's enabled).

Other players can also act as Helpers (who are in Creative mode) or Spectators (who are in Spectator mode).

ADVANCEMENT STEPS
1. Obtain at least 1 iron ingot
2. Obtain at least 3 iron ingots
3. Obtain obsidian or a bucket of lava
4. Enter the Nether
5. Obtain a blaze rod
6. Return to the Overworld from the Nether
7. Throw an Eye of Ender
8. Locate a Stronghold
9. Place an Eye of Ender in an End portal
10. Enter the End
11. Kill the Ender Dragon
12. Return to the Overworld from the End

Next step advancements automatically unlock all previous steps to prevent the progress bar from returning to an earlier stage.

MENU INFO

Runners are blinded and frozen until the timer begins to ensure an equal starting time. Each runner will receive their own bonus chest once the game begins.

If Quickplay Mode is enabled, they will also receive an extra buffed bonus chest.

If Baby Mode is enabled, runners will also receive an OP pickaxe, axe, shovel, chestplate and a totem of undying.

Separated Mode means players will not start in the exact same location, they will be randomly teleported at the start of the game.

The timer should automatically stop after jumping into the portal after defeating the dragon.

If you need to stop before the end of the game or take a break, run the following command to pause the timer (and again to continue): /trigger pause
Be aware you can of course still die, it's recommended to pause the timer and log out.

HOW TO INSTALL

Create a new world and put the zip file in the datapack directory, then enable it in the Minecraft menu.

When you're in the new world do /reload
If you installed the datapack correctly it will notify you in chat and let you automatically setup the game (do this once everyone's in the server/LAN world).

After everyone's chosen a team and you've changed the settings as you like, you just click start to begin!

POSTGAME

If you want to explore the world after finishing the game, run /function candlewaster:menu to bring the menu back up and then choose Helper or Spectator to not be affected by effects while the timer is not running.

Hi

we played the datapack yesterday and it was really funny. we enjoyed it very.
Nevertheless, there seems to be a bug:

11. Kill the Ender Dragon
12. Return to the Overworld from the End
Next step advancements automatically unlock all previous steps to prevent the progress bar from returning to an earlier stage.

Once you enter the End and fall into the void the 12th advancements triggers and the game ist considered as "won" even if the Dragon is not killed.

Kindest Regards
Daniel

I'm so glad you enjoyed! And thanks for giving some feedback. I was aware of this bug while creating it, there's no real good workaround.
If the dragon is killed by something that's not directly a player, the game will not be won either so hence the return to overworld step.

I can try to change the final advancement to be specific to the portal that is created in the End once I have some spare time.
