Today I've made a simple datapack, which turns your stairs, back into the blocks they came from! Takes 2 stairs, to get back 3 blocks of that type.

Looks interesting, but you should keep the Stonecutter in mind, which transfers block->stair and a 1:1 ratio for any stone based blocks, including your example image. That means you could get infinite of any such blocks by using the stonecutter and this recipe as it currently stands (use stonecutter on stack of quartz to get stack of quartz stairs, then use that stack of quartz stairs to get a stack and a half quartz, etc).

Hmm... maybe I should swap it to the stone cutter, and have it just be a 1:1...

Actually, 6 blocks gives the player 4 stairs, thus 2 stairs gives the player 3 blocks.

In the game, yes. But actually 3 blocks is worth 4 stairs. Is that what Mojang gives us? No. But that's the way it should be. So it should take 4 stairs for 3 blocks, not 2. But whatever. Costs fewer stairs for me so I don't mind; I'll just use this with my more stairs crafting datapack and multiply my blocks and stairs *commence evil laughter*
