Stranger Minecraft

A Stranger Things Datapack for Minecraft Java 1.21.X

Step into the world of Hawkins. This datapack adds Eleven's telekinetic powers, a spreading Upside Down infection, terrifying Demogorgon boss fights with a boss bar, swarming Demodog minions, and Vecna's deadly curse — all in vanilla Minecraft, no mods needed.

Eleven's Telekinesis

Channel Eleven's psychic abilities through three distinct powers, each with unique sounds, particles, and a health cost to simulate her iconic nosebleeds.

Mind Push

Hold the Carrot on a Stick and right-click. Every mob within range gets launched into the air with a satisfying blast of purple energy and a Warden sonic boom. Costs half a heart. 3-second cooldown.

Mind Crush

Hold the Warped Fungus on a Stick and right-click. Nearby mobs freeze in place, begin glowing, then get hurled into the sky for devastating fall damage. The sound of a Warden roar mixed with an Ender Dragon growl plays as dark particles swirl around you. Costs a full heart. 5-second cooldown.

Mind Shield -NEW-

Use the Goat Horn and a shimmering barrier of End Rod particles surrounds you. Grants Resistance III and Absorption II for 5 seconds, letting you tank hits from Demogorgons and survive Vecna's wither damage. Costs 1.5 hearts. 8-second cooldown.

The Upside Down

Drop the Gate Opener (Blaze Rod) on the ground to rip open a gate. A portal structure builds itself from crying obsidian, and the world around it starts to rot.

The corruption spreads in three waves:

• Wave 1 (5 blocks) — Grass turns to sculk, dirt to coarse dirt, stone to deepslate, and leaves dissolve into nothing.
• Wave 2 (15 blocks) — The first Demogorgon crawls through the gate with two Demodogs flanking it.
• Wave 3 (25 blocks) — Torches burn with soul fire, two more Demogorgons and three more Demodogs spawn. This wave repeats every 20 seconds.

A permanent thunderstorm rolls in. Players near the gate get hit with a darkness aura. Sculk particles and soul flames flicker around the portal.

To end it, break the Lodestone at the center of the gate. Every Demogorgon and Demodog dies, the boss bar disappears, the storm clears, and the darkness lifts. The corrupted terrain stays behind as a scar on your world.

Demogorgons -UPGRADED-

These are not regular zombies. Demogorgons have 80 HP, deal 12 damage per hit, move fast, resist knockback, and are immune to fire. They wear full Netherite armor with Thorns III and carry Strength II — they hit like a truck and punish you for hitting back.

A red boss bar tracks the Demogorgon's health so you always know how close you are to winning. Every 10 seconds, the Demogorgon lets out a terrifying screech — any player within 15 blocks gets hit with Darkness and Nausea.

Drops: Echo Shards, Ender Pearls, Amethyst Shards, and occasionally a Golden Apple, Totem of Undying, or even a Nether Star.

Demodogs -NEW-

Fast, aggressive baby zombies that hunt in packs. Demodogs have 20 HP, deal 6 damage, and move with Speed II — they will chase you down. They spawn alongside Demogorgons during corruption waves and drop Amethyst Shards. Smaller, weaker, but relentless.

Vecna's Curse

Two minutes after a gate opens, Vecna picks a random player. You get 30 seconds to survive.

For the first 15 seconds, darkness covers your screen and your movement slows to a crawl. Sculk soul particles swirl around you. Then the wither damage kicks in. The Warden's heartbeat gets louder. Countdown warnings flash on screen at 20 seconds, 10 seconds, and 5 seconds.

Your only escape is eating a Golden Apple. Do it in time and a totem animation plays — you are saved. Run out of time and Vecna takes you.

Getting Started

Run these commands in-game:

• /function stranger_minecraft:give_powers — Gives you Mind Push, Mind Crush, Mind Shield, the Gate Opener, and 3 Golden Apples.
• /function stranger_minecraft:demo — Plays through a full automated showcase of every feature. Great for recording or testing.

1. Download and unzip the datapack.
2. Drop the folder into your world's datapacks folder.
3. Open the world and run /reload
