I made the Third Life series (from Grian and other YouTubers) into a datapack for you all to play! Please remember that this was not my idea, I suggest you go check out the amazing YouTubers that created this!

To play:
All you need to to is add this to your world / server and then run /reload WHEN ALL PLAYERS ARE ONLINE. If someone is missed out, simply run /team join player Life1.
Admins can be specified with the command /tag add player thirdlifeadmin. Their lives still go down, however they won't be forced into spectator mode when they die.

To install:
Please see PlanetMinecraft's guide on how to install datapacks!

It is important that you don't run /reload or /function third life:init after the game has started because that will reset everyone's lives!

but just a note, this is pretty outdated and bad and there’ll be better packs out there

This datapack will be pretty useful for an event on our server. Also it's easy to understand, so as a newbie in datapack development, I can modify it without any troubles ( •̀ ω •́ )✧

hello so I'm using this datapack with the Aternos server, i loaded up the world (1.16.5) and i ran the datapack. It worked initially, and I had 3 lives. So I decided to test it and kill myself 3 times (all 3 lives worked normally) and when I went into spectator mode i wasn't able to restart the lives and put myself back into survival. I tried this datapack on my single playerworld (same version) and it worked. can anyone tell me what happened?

Try running this: /scoreboard players set @s deaths 1

I wanted to try and edit this by having 10 lives and the ability to get lives back through a command. Though due to the fact that I've literally never created or edited a data pack before, I'm having issues. I at first wanted to create the 10 lives and then look for a way to get them back though ran into the issue that the second I adjusted any code in the :main folder, the main code wouldn't work. I think it worked just fine with :tick. Do you possibly have any ideas as to why this is happening? I did compress it back into a data pack and "equipped" it so that's definitely not the problem. Thanks

Basically go into the init.mcfuntion and add more teams and modify their colors, then in main.mcfunction say that if the deaths is the right amount, then change their team
