This datapack uses the new smithing system from 1.20 that we can already test in the experimental datapacks from 1.19.4 (remember to activate it when creating the world to use it)

A whole block included to upgrade? thats hella expensive honestly when you can use less to make a new one, does it even keep the enchantments??

Just tested it, it does keep enchantments, names, and so on. It also works on release 1.20. I don't know entirely how I got it to work, but I placed it into my Datapack Folder and extracted all of the files into it

Does this remove the original ways of crafting new tools?

I haven't tested if it removes normal crafting from tools and weapons, but it shouldn't.

As the description says, the datapack was made to be used in 1.19.4 if the experimental features are enabled. Otherwise they won't work because they use the old smithing. In the 1.20 snapshot, yes or yes, the smithing is replaced since it is no longer experimental and will now be an official part of the game.
