What’s this datapack about?

This experimental datapack removes a couple of drops from the game, making specified mobs both more meaningful but also inventory/container management and several redstone systems like filters will be easier and more accessible. Note, that it also makes redstone systems like cow cookers and chicken cookers less effective.

The datapack was inspired by the golden, Alpha and Beta days of Minecraft.

It's more or less an experiment as it obviously makes a lot of foodstuffs less accessible or even unobtainable. I didn't really care much about what I do.

What does it change?
  • Cows no longer drop beef. Pigs become the main source of meat with the same saturation and fullness value. Same thing applies to mooshrooms.
  • Sheep no longer drop mutton. Sheep's purpose is the wool. Don't be a sheep killer.
  • Chickens no longer drop raw chicken meat. Farm chickens for eggs and feathers.
  • Rabbits no longer drop their meat. Their main purpose: rabbit hides for bundles and lucky feet for brewing. For balance purposes, they drop now up to 2 times more hides. Hides can still be crafted into leather. Rabbit's Foot is now used for the rabbit stew recipe.
What becomes unavailable or harder, aside from just the loot drops?
  • Some food is obviously harder to get by.
  • Butcher's trades might be significantly harder. Villagers' trades are not editable via datapacks yet, I would have to resort to commands to edit/change them. I might do that in the future, for now I am leaving it as it is.
If a treasure chest contains source of food that was removed, it is still available to be looted. It's an award for exploration. You can now also flex your new "trophy". Cats can also still give you chicken meat they hunted as a morning gift.

Warning! This datapack might not be compatible with packs that replace vanilla mob drops. Compatibility options might be created if someone requests it. I'm open for suggestions!
