I think if you change the emeralds to blocks of emeralds it will be better...

This is wayyy to cheap for a item that revives you. Those gold blocks take like 5 minutes to get with the help of piglin trading and the emeralds are obtainable with villagers in seconds. That makes the totem way to common.

It is already common because of raids, where you earn about 5 totems per raid. So why crafting is "cheap"

Well in raids you at least have to fight for them and move to a ooutpost or find a patrol to get the bad omen. That's more effort I think.
