Color-Coded Teleporters

These fancy machines allows you to select other teleporters based on their color. To select a Teleporter just toss down a glass block of the color of the teleporter you want to go at a different color teleporter and walk into the beacon beam and wallah! You're at your destination.

How to create:

To create a teleporter you will need 13 emerald blocks 4 redstone blocks 1 beacon and 1 stained glass block. Place 9 emerald blocks in a 3x3, 4 redstone blocks in the corners and 4 emerald blocks at the age. 1 beacon in the middle and above the beacon the stained glass block of the color of your choosing. Then throw an ender pearl on top of the glass block.

• Multiple rifts can be open form different teleporters.

• Players can hear the sounds of other entities traveling through the same color rift that they are standing next to.

• Putting down multiple stained glass block will keep the rift open for longer.

• Each teleporter has its own special speed and amount of partials playing and teleport sound.

• Portal particles will change direction when a rift of the same color has opened.

• Sounds of nether portal playing by using portal blocks.

• When teleporting, if the destination teleporter has a different colored rift open. It will immediately set it to its own color so you don't get teleported to whatever other rift was open.

• The color of the rift will reset to its default color after a certain amount of time passes if it was changed.

• If the rift/beacon beam is obstructed then the teleporter will shut down and will not come back on until the beam has returned.

I have tested it on a server and it works fine. I haven't tested with other players on tho because I couldn't get any of my friends to help me test it. I tried offering cake to them if they did help me test but they just kept telling me that the cake is a lie.

Keep in Mind:

The foceload command doesn't work in command blocks or in functions so you are going to have to find some way of loading them.

Try not to have multiple teleporters in a world or loaded at the same time. There are some things I have implemented in the datapack to prevent you from making multiple of the same one but there are currently ways of getting around it.

If you find any bugs you can let me know.

Seems expensive? Let me know what might be a better recipe.

113 Emeralds per teleporter just seems a bit expensive. I hardly find emeralds as it is. 226 emeralds for a 2-way teleport is a lot, especially since its supposed to only spawn 4-8 per chunk. You would have to explore 15 chunks per teleport. With the luck of the game not actually spawning a full 8 emeralds, that could increase to even 30 chunks. Thats a lot of ground to cover... for one teleport..

As for what could be better, not sure.

Maybe swap emerald with the redstone?

Well first of all you can get lots of emeralds through villagers. Second of all I cant replace all the emerald blocks with redstone because then the beacon beam won't appear. My thoughts were replacing the bottom blocks of emeralds with gold.

I haven't played true vanilla MC in ages, but I still say 113 emeralds per teleport is a bit expensive.

I like the gold idea, still requires a bit of emerald, but not a huge amount.

With it being all emerald, 4 teleports, i.e one at my house, one at an outpost, one at the bottom of a mine, and one at a village, would be 452 emeralds. Since you can, at most (from what I know) only get 1 emerald from a trade at a time, that's still a lottafriggindang emeralds.

But I digress, your mod, do what you want :P

Interesting. Through YouTube, I got comments about this creation around 100 views, On Reddit, I got comments around 10 - 20 upvotes. On Planet Minecraft and Minecraft Forum, I didn't get any comments so far. (minus this one I made of course.)

OK I've installed your Datapack, the beacons are working up to the point where the beam activates and you add it's colour block changing the beam colour, but when you throw an ender pearl at them the redstone doesn't convert to command block. I'm on Java 1.13.2.

I've tried using:

Rift 1.13.2 Snapshot
Forge 1.13.2
Minecraft Vanilla 1.13.2

Ender Pearl does not convert red stone blocks to command blocks.

I've just seen your thread on the Minecraft forums about it working in single player survival and multiplayer what about single player creative which I require better travel for? Could this be the problem?

ok go back into your world and run this command "/datapack list" and see if it comes up. If you don't see it then you installed it improperly. If you do see it then I'm not sure what is going on so please send me a dm through Discord. My Discord is Tyde#2180

It could be disabled, in which case do /datapack enable [datapack name]
