  This datapack adds some extra flair to spiders, allowing them to appear upside-down when they're underneath a block. This pack is designed to be completely cosmetic, and makes little changes to spider behavior.

  No, this datapack does not include actual wall crawling, only roof crawling. For wall crawling, you can use the Wall Climbers resource pack by EnderB_C, but it requires mods.



Features
  • Flips spiders upside-down when they're underneath a block.
  • Upside-down Spiders take no fall damage.
  • Doesn't effect named spiders so your pet spiders don't despawn. (Currently Bugged)
  • Doesn't effect spider jockeys since spider jockeys would look stupid with upside-down spiders.
  • Skeletons riding spiders (spider jockeys) take much less damage from suffocation.

  • Updated to 1.20.4
  • Squashed some annoying bugs (not the spiders haha)
  • Only upside down spiders are immune to fall damage instead of all of them
  • Reverted to original, somewhat less effective crawling algorithm due to complexity

Possible New Issue: spiders that have crawled up a wall before may not ever despawn, sorry. If true, I cant fix it.

Can you make it so the spiders crawl on the walls? Cuz ceilings is a little limited.

Mmm that's probably impossible without a recoursepack. Only way it was possible in the first place is because of the dinnerbone/grumm easter egg.

this dp constantly checks for spiders that have a block above them and applies the dinner bone effect rite?

Thats the main feature yes, but it was a lot more complicated to design than you might think.
