    Now with 16 colors! You can make a Windrunner Staff with any type of wool. The recipe is 6 pieces of the same color wool, 3 sticks, in a butterfly pattern using a crafting table.

    Make sure you download the datapack AND the resource pack when you update.

    Are you one of the many Minecraft players that haven’t been to the End to get an elytra? Are you a Minecraft veteran who finds walking around early-game tedious? Then the Windrunner Staff datapack is perfect for you!

    This data pack only adds one item to the game, the Windrunner Staff. When you right click, it unfurls and gives you the following buffs until you stop right clicking:
    • Speed II
    • Slow falling II
    • Leaping VI
    NOTE: Requires resource pack.

    It's probably because you're also using a recipe unlock datapack. Get rid of it, and the datapack should work fine

    I just downloaded the datapack and the resource pack hosted on this page, loaded them into a new 1.17 world and verified that it worked. Can you please be more specific?

    Here's some troubleshooting ideas:
    • Are you playing 1.17?
    • Did you download both the datapack and the resource pack?
    • Did you accidently install the resource pack and the datapack in the wrong places?
    • Did you confirm that your Windrunner staff datapack and resource pack are both version 1.1.0? If you're updating, you need to install both the resource pack and datapack again.
    • If you installed the datapack into an existing world, did you type /reload?
