Wither Ascension
The vanilla Wither dies in about 30 seconds and never really fights back. Wither
Ascension turns it into a real boss battle — a cinematic, multi-stage duel with
loads of attacks, smart AI, a craftable counter-weapon, a world that twists around
you, and a secret rematch if you're fast enough.
Heads up: this is a hard fight. Bring good gear, potions, and maybe a friend.
What's different from the normal Wither?
- Four stages instead of one — the Wither changes how it fights as its health drops.
- 15+ attacks — beams, chains, clones, black holes, lightning, slams, summons, and more.
- Every big move warns you — a message and effects tell you what's coming so you can react.
- It actually moves and thinks — it chases you, dodges your hits, and punishes you for running away.
- A counter-weapon — forge the Wither-Bane Blade to stun it and finally land your hits.
- The world fights too — the ground around you slowly corrupts into soul sand and blackstone.
- A secret second phase — kill it fast enough and it refuses to stay dead.
The Fight
- Awakening (start): The Wither is dormant for a few seconds — a spiral of souls, thunder, and a starting shockwave. Don't get close yet.
- Stage 1 (100%–50%): It tests you with a rotating mix of attacks.
- Stage 2 (50%–33%): It roars, calls minions, and unlocks nastier moves like the Soul Beam and Shadow Clone. Arrows near it get destroyed.
- Stage 3 (below 33%): Enrage. The deadliest attacks come out, and it speeds up.
- Final Stand (below 30%): It gets stronger and faster for one last push. Burst it down.
Attacks you'll face
- Soul Beam — charges up, then sweeps a beam. Hide behind a wall to avoid it.
- Soul Chains — tethers you to it; run away to break free or take a big hit.
- Shadow Clone — it turns invisible and spawns 3 fake glowing copies. Find the real one.
- Soul Storm — 8 orbs orbit it and occasionally shoot a homing soul at you.
- Black Hole — pulls you in, then explodes. Run!
- Charge / Slam — dashes through blocks, or leaps and slams down with a shockwave.
- Pull / Pulse / Rage — yanks you in, knocks you back, or blasts you.
- Lightning Storm / Minions / Skull barrages — rain, skeletons, and falling skulls.
- Corrupted Ground — purple clouds that slow and hurt you if you stand in them.
How do I win?
- Forge the Wither-Bane Blade first (drop a Netherite Sword next to a Withered Core). Hit the Wither with it to stun it for 8 seconds — that's your window to deal damage, because otherwise it dodges melee.
- Watch the warnings. Every dangerous move tells you what to do: break sight, run, or hide.
- Don't camp. It shoots skulls at runners and drops magma / lightning on kiters.
- Keep moving. The ground turns hostile and the fog thickens the longer you take.
- Pop it in Stage 3. Save your best stuff for the enrage and end it fast.
Death, Trophies & a Secret

Beating it plays a short death scene and drops a Wither Trophy that boosts your
reach and damage. Killing it more times unlocks milestone trophies (5 / 25 / 100
kills). And if you finish it in under 5 minutes, it comes back as "The Unbroken"
— a faster, stronger rematch.
