History: Nicole awoke, a bright light shone on her. Her vision became clear and her apartment was an overcrowded with flames. All she could think of was to escape the insanity. There was a nearby window, and she was close enough to the ground to jump. But what about her family? Her mother and father surely could be stuck in there, as well as her brother. She ignored them and jumped out to safety. The wind traveled through her hair and she finally landed on the ground, falling down on her knees. She looked back at the burning building. Her family, they...they...were...dead. She sobbed and cried until she grew tired.

Personality: serious, friendly, caring
History: Damon fought in the Vietnam war and like many other Vietnam Vets he became near to homeless. He lived with his daughter and her husband and he is still looking for her after he found the dead body of the husband in the wreckage of the house. He carries a picture of her and asks people if they have seen her. He keeps his beret on at all times as a show of his 'skill with weapons'. He will protect anyone who is kind to him but if they are cheeky to him he will still protect them but not as much. He isn't as fast as he used to be but he is stronger. (sorry its short i'll add on if its too short)

Personality: Doesn't talk much, and when he does it's usually when he's guiding people to safety or handing out supplies.
History: Derek doesn't have much of a backstory, for he hasn't been here for a long time. He was born in the hidden testing facilities out in the Southwest, where aliens and such were contained.
Derek was made from chemicals and body fluids, and has ever since been trained to wreck havoc, for the government knew of the Apocalypse.
"Why didn't they warn anybody?" you may ask, and I shall answer. The government wanted to show what they were capable of, and so, they prepared for the destruction, and left all the other citizens to survive on their own.
After a few weeks of living in the fallout, the citizens started begging for help, and the government gave them hope by sending out specialized humans, such as Derek, to aid them, by bringing food, water, and weapons.

Personality: likes company if desired (talks to self at times), very stealthy, quiet/shy kind of person, very acrobatic, a bit of a nerd , doesn't get emotional (easily), can follow orders very well although can also take charge.
History: (before the natural events.) Only child, high expectation for school (why so smart), lived in a quiet town, was at school in class when earthquake hit, hid in closet (the whole science room ones where they keep scientific stuff and can lock it), woke up and there was no one left except for the 'people' who were now zombies.

Other: Can snipe very well, very skillful with swords and such and is very resourceful when looking for weapons or food.

Personality:Is very cooperative and loves to work in a group, as he played on the football team as the head Quarter-back he is very strong and is a leader, yet is still fun loving.
History: (before the natural events.) He is an only child, his mother had a miscarriage when he was only 7. His parents never tried again after that, so he was always lonely. He had alot of friends and girls liked him but he was always very sad and for some reason always lonely. It was because he had no siblings, his mom had cancer and could only talk for about 30 minutes a day and his father worked long hours at hard jobs to pay the bills. The only thing he did was train to be better and stronger, though he also has a decent IQ level. He is not your average meat head jock, he is 17 and strong, fast, and ready to fight! He is hoping to find his father at his work (Though he will not) because he watched a beam from his apartment fall on his bed ridden mother. He still has flash backs from that inccedent that will come back to haunt him at very inconvienent times.

Personality: Fierce, but has a soft spot for animals, distrusting, shy, feral, strong and athletic.
History: (before the natural events.): Maya ran away into the woods at 6 when an armed group of robbers came into her house. For the first couple of days she was scared that the robbers would come after her. But they didn't. She started learning the ways of the woods. She lived with the wild animals, and a fox acted as her guardian. Maya soon became very skilled at tree climbing, camouflage and hunting. Hunting was very important, since that was the only way to get food. She didn't have the claws, or teeth like the animals, but she did make a bow, that she nearly never missed with.

Maya just pulled back her string, ready to shoot a squirrel, when the earthquake hit. She put her bow close to her chest, so she wouldn't lose it, and fell to the ground.The last thing she saw, was a fox, her guardian, running towards her and get hit by a falling tree. Then it all went black.

Appearance: Long Brown, tangled hair, bright blue eyes that have a wild look in them, short for her age, and wears old, dirty clothes.
Other: Is very fast, and skilled with bows.

History: (before the natural events.) They were orphans, growing up on the streets. They stole a car and rode from Washington to Alaska. He had two dogs, dead now. right before 2012, he moved to Ohio for a change of scenery. His best friend Kai was with him the whole time (Since he was 6), and is pretty much like a twin to Raj. Julie is his girlfriend, and she has been with Raj since he was 15.

Name: Vladimir 'Bone' Patrovak

Personality: Cold, disinterested, manipulative, quiet.
History: Born in the former Soviet Union, Vladimir's parents immigrated to the United States shortly after the birth of their son, fearing he would become entangled in the corrupt underworld that was quickly swallowing all of their homeland. Little did they realize that the country of their salvation was far from safe. After settling down in New York City, the Patrovaks opened up a deli, selling fresh cuts and meats. Mr. Patrovak, hoped to pass on what he had learned to his son. Unfortunately, Vladimir had no interest in the ways of a deli, though he found he had a knack for slicing thru bone and meat.

Vladimir spent most of his time on the streets, spending quite a bit of time around an Italian restaurant where he had befriended the head chef. Where he had been dissatisfied with the ways of a deli, Vladimir found that he was quite interested in cooking and, after months of begging, began to learn the ways of a kitchen from the head chef, learning quickly and obtaining a job as an assistant to the chef when he turned 14.

Vladimir's life would have gone on rather quietly if he had not approached the owner of the restaurant, Alfonzo Luciano, a well known buisnessman and high ranking officer of the NYC Italian mafia, to ask for a favor. At the time Vladimir's mother had been hospitalized due to a car accident and even with the combined money that both Vladimir and his father earned there wasn't enough money to cover the medical expenses. Long story made short, Luciano agreed to cover the costs on the condition that Vladimir would do a single job for him, no matter its size.

It wasn't long until that job came about. Luciano called Vladimir to the back of the kitchen one night and handed him a bone cleaver, a common kitchen tool. Vladimir was led into the freezer to find a severely beaten man tied up and attempting to cry out behind his gag. Luciano closed the door behind them and, after lighting a cigar and extinguishing his lighter's flame, said to Vladimir "Kill him."

And he gained an expression of surprise and pleasure when Vladimir did so almost instantly and without hesitation or question, the bone cleaver slicing cleanly thru the gagged man's neck. Vladimir gave the now rolling head of the gagged man a moments glance before wiping the bloody cleaver on the front of his kitchen bib. 'We don't normally allow smoking in the freezer sir.' was all he had to say as he passed the cleaver back to Luciano.

Fast forward 17 years: Vladimir has been working as a hitman for various mobs and clients for roughly 17 years now. Shortly after his first killing he had entered into the world of underground killings, working his way up in the criminal world. He had earned himself the nickname 'Bone' or 'Mr. Bone' due to his preferred way of dispatching a target up close, a bone cleaver. During his time in the criminal underworld Vladimir had learned many things; how to move silently so as to avoid detection, the art of betrayal and manipulation, and how to turn a suspicion. Oh and he also picked up quite a few cooking tricks along the way.

In fact, it was when Vladimir was attending a cooking convention, the location of his newest target, that the disaster occurred. Vladimir emerged from the ruined building with slight cuts and bruises, having been close to the basement stairwell where his target had fled. Putting away his newly bloodied cleaver and checking his holstered MK23, Vladimir took a look around himself at the rubble and smoke and began to make his way thru the ruins.
Appearance:
Other: Skilled in CQC combat, well versed in the use of firearms and stealth. He dislikes other people immensely and finds it difficult to integrate into civilized company. A fairly good cook by all accounts, just watch out for poison.

Hopefully this is enough. Hopefully we'll get some specific locations to meet up at or find other participants.

History: Zane spent his life learning, teaching his own class with kendo stick. He even won around 15 tournaments. Random strangers always tried to beat him, but to no avail. When Zane was walking down the street one day the disaster struck leaving the world in turmoil. Zane walked the earth trying to survive as long as he could.

Luckily for her, she learned how to use some guns and learned a little bit of first aid. She is quite smart and learned martial arts from a personal trainer. She barely survived the disaster, she is young and agile, so she was able to hide and move quickly. Elizabeth is ready to do anything to survive.
