In my view, it depends on your choices, the gameplay, and what matters most to you; while there isn't necessarily a "better" version, here is when you should choose Java or Bedrock:
- Choose Java if: You are interested in adventures and experimenting with mods and shaders; if you like the classic PvP style that thrived in version 1.8.X; and if you want the wide variety of content offered by PMC.
- Choose Bedrock if: It’s affordable and available on many devices. Plus, the optimization is good, and the PvP is easy to learn. The only challenge is the Marketplace, which features a lot of paid content costing Minecoins, ranging from 160 to 1,510. Using a Minecoins gift card is an alternative to using a credit or debit card.
- Choose Java if: You are interested in adventures and experimenting with mods and shaders; if you like the classic PvP style that thrived in version 1.8.X; and if you want the wide variety of content offered by PMC.
