Feedback on my build?
I'm looking for feedback on what I'd like to call my first above-average build that got uplloaded.

Positive or negative, I don't care - just don't be too negative.

It's definitely a good start. If you intentionally are making this a "sky island", I would recommend adding some conical shapes to the bottom of the platform, and to round out the edges and add some random vines or whatever. As for the actual build, remember to have a sense of scale. This seems a little too small, especially if you look at that entranceway/arch thing. Detail is a must for those walls, a good way to do so would be to add a few intricately detailed window spaces. If you want more depth in your builds, I recommend making walls 2 thick and then carving into them, although such isn't very applicable to such a small build. For your paths, try making them look less organized and more random, using blocks like gravel, cobblestone, stone, and stone brick in the same path. But the one you have now is OK.
Overall, the idea is cool, even the layout and design I like. Just make it bigger and more detailed, and I will be satisfied. And maybe use a texturepack for a medieval style, like maybe John Smith?

I like how you made the floating island so I'm going to comment on that. I believe the island should have some vines coming down off of it, rounder shape to look more natural (as natural as floating islands get), and maybe adding a small pond would look nice.
I would suggest making the edges of the island less sharp and making it seem more natural and random.
Good start, but maybe I would surround the island with a mixture of different stone bricks (not red bricks) and have vines hanging down!
Id say your definitely getting on the right track. However, the walls are still very flat. I would try to add some more depth to them. The roof is kinda strange. On something this small i would recommend building in odd numbers because it makes the roof alot easier. The bricks on the ground in the back seem kinda out of place also. I hope i helped, and didnt just sound critical.
I'd have to say just a little bit more detail, depth, and a broader use of materials.
Another thing (for me) is the quality of the screenshots.
You don't need some fancy shmancy shaders to get the job done, just make sure you at least have your shadows on fancy, and that you take the pictures during the daytime (easier to see the build).
If you are going to take night pictures, make sure to include day pictures.

I actually updated it and then checked this, there's daytime photos, and I'd say it looks a bit better then before.
Its good. It could use a bit more variation and details.
And just to add, if you want to improve the roof shape, try a repetition of 'upsidedown stair-block-rightwayup stair. Gives it a more sloped look and it's a good basic shape.
It's not bad; I like the fact that you scattered the gravel on the path instead of laying it on thickly - it gives it a more natural look. Some things that you could do to improve the building is giving the roof a lip - what I mean by that is extending the dark oak stairs over the edge of the building by one block. This technique gives the structure more depth and improves the overall quality. As for the blacksmith part, it might be worth covering the entire floor of that part with a combination of stone and cracked stone brick. Having only half of the ground dirt and the other half stone looks a little strange and it takes a while to see that it's a blacksmith. Paving the section close to the house sets it off and defines it as the blacksmith more, which might look better. And also the cobwebs - love the fact that you're using it as smoke. It's a very handy trick to use, good job. However, it's very bunched up together and looks very constricted. It might be worth spacing each block apart a bit and make it look more like it's spiraling up into the sky.
Anyway, just my opinion. Nice work. Good luck on your future projects! :thumb: (y)
(why does this forum not have a 'thumbs up' emote? I'm heartbroken.)

I'd say it could use more depth and detail. Try to make windows using stairs and a variety of block types, and overlaying blocks. The roofs could also use general shape. I hope i helped. o3o
I'll try to improve on that. Also, it was hard to make a roof shape. I might update the build soon with an improvement, but not on what you suggested. I'll work on that later.
