Does anyone know how to spawn only the bottom/top of a bed?

This is the basic command you'd probably want to use:
(which creates the bottom of a bed)
If you wanted other orientations/types, you'd need to add a data value; for example, data value 8 is a bed top:
Data values 0 - 7 are bed bottoms in various rotations, and 8 - 15 are bed tops.
/setblock ~ ~ ~ bed(which creates the bottom of a bed)

Edit, just checked out the IDs. 26 is half bed
Hmmm.. you could try adding :1 or :2 to a /give or /setblock, or use worledit and only select one block. That might work.
