Hey guys! I want to make a map, but I don't know how to, and YouTube doesn't help. How do you make one?

If you need help with uploading a map to PMC or getting a downloaded map to your Minecraft type %appdata% in your windows search thingy and click on .minecraft
Once in there, go to saves and you will see all of the world you have (careful NOT to delete any of them). If you want to upload a world just copy the one you want and paste it onto your desktop. Then send it to a .zip folder. After that you can upload it to a file sharing site like drop box. If you want to get a map on your Minecraft than just paste the map into your saves folder. If you are looking for help creating the actual map then refer to the post above this one. :p

Thanks! Just two more things, do you need to upload the file? And do the people who download must have winRAR or anything to use the map?

If you want to post your map to PMC then you have to upload the file to Dropbox (or something like it). Then you have a link going to the dropbox link (make sure your dropbox upload is accessible to everyone).
When someone downloads a map they do NOT have to have winRAR. Someone can unzip the .zip folder by right clicking on the folder and clicking the extract all button.

Let me know if you need any more help or clarification.

Creating a map, as in a parkour map, a map item, etc?

If item, it is a compass (which it is crafted with 4 iron surrounding a redstone dust) surrounded by paper.

If it is a parkour map you want to make, then first you need to create a world that you can work with. Once you see what you are building your map on, create blueprints on what is going where, where certain things need to be where (such as checkpoints), etc. If you have a storyline/theme to your map, then it may have to be top priority. Then you need to figure out what blocks you need to use. Then you do your redstone wiring. Have decoration go last though, because if you have no patience and work a few <unit of time>s at a time like me, making things pretty should go last.

If other, please specify.

I hope this helped!~

Well, tell us what you need help with, and we can help you. Do you need to know how to create the world? How to upload to a hosting site?
